Zoom into the ethereal,
a microphotographic universe.
Capture twigged outliers,
stardust outcroppings—
a divine harvest.
Look—touch the brocaded sunlight.
It is as pragmatic
as the UV poison
that strips us of our shirts.
We walk into the water
for lechery, for love,
to integrate circuits.
Wires crossed,
just like the stars.
“Stonecutters” is an abstract poem that melds the sensual with the electrical to suggest intimacy as both a physical and technological connection. By zooming into both the microscopic and the cosmic, it situates human desire within a vast, electrified universe, where touch, light, and circuitry converge in moments of vulnerability and union.
I didn’t know what to title this poem, so I named it after the song that inspired it: Stonecutters by DOPE LEMON.
