Hello hello, dear friends and followers. Switching business models here and putting monthly updates via email! I usually do this on Instagram, but heck, I have people on email, too! I can’t forget about y’all, too, now can I? Each month I’ll give a brief snapshot of what song has been on repeat; the energy of the month (i.e., a tarot card that resonates with the vibes); what book has me page-flipping; moments that made me super-duper happy; and big updates on the author front; and my ultimate feeling. Hope to connect with y’all in other ways—not just poetry. If you ever feel compelled to shoot me an email with questions, songs, or poems you like (not just mine)—I’d love to hear from you.

Energy / Vibes: The Eight of Pentacles. Apprenticeship, skill development, hard work, and dedication. I started a new job a few months ago, and I feel like I’ve been putting my head down and grinding away at learning something out of my wheelhouse. I’ve made steady progress, taken pride in my work product, and been focused on projects. While everything is complex, I’ll keep chipping away, showing up, learning, and doing my best.

Magic Moments: As I’m getting ready for Halloween, I had the perfect punny idea for Howdy: she’ll be MELON COLLIE (melancholy). I got her a watermelon dog bandana to wear. It also finally SNOWED SNOWED down here today, so I had to whip out the camera and document it. The first snow always seems to coincide with the onset of a calming period. It’s been a lot of GO, and now it’s been a lot of SLOW. This slowness has induced plenty of crafting and discovering hidden gems at thrift stores—there’s something so gratifying about finding those 50-cent deals. And lastly, my friend who knows ASL taught my friend group a few words this past weekend. So far, my favorite signs are “yellow” and “cloudy.”
Writing Updates: I got some cover designs back for my next poetry collection (if you’re reading this far…I hope you’re excited for the next one!). It’s slated for end of May/early June 2027!
